CROHN'S DISEASE
Crohn's disease (also called terminal ileitis) involves deep inflammation and ulceration of the ileum and colon, but it can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract from the mouth to the anus. It can also cause complications outside the GI tract such as skin rashes, arthritis and inflammation of the eye.
The main symptoms are abdominal pain, diarrhea and /or constipation, bloody stools, vomiting and weight loss. The most serious complications are strictures (narrowing of the GI tract) caused by the deep inflammation and ulcerations and the possibility of obstruction and rupture. Fistulas can also develop between parts of the bowel and/or the rectum.
Crohn's is possibly an autoimmune disease so the treatment is frequently using antiflammatory drugs like corticosteriods and other more immuno-suppressive drugs. All of these traditional drugs do not offer a cure, but only keep the symptoms at bay through suppression.
Homeopathy has the possibility of having a healing effect on the patient with Crohn's disease. Since it is a chronic problem with periodic remissions, it is important that the patient make the commitment to natural healing therapies like homeopathy. The longer a problem has been going in, of course, the longer it takes to completely heal.
If you suffer from Crohn's disease and are leery of taking the harsh prescription drugs often prescribed for this condition, please call me at 303-986-0492. I will be happy to discuss what we have to offer.
